The Principles of Accounting course in the IMP program aligns with the institution's mission by fostering a learner-centric approach and strengthening fundamental accounting knowledge to develop competent, ethically aware management professionals. This course introduces students to the language of business and the fundamental concepts and practices of accounting in business management. Students will learn about the need for accounting in business and its methods, including accounting principles, the accounting cycle, the preparation of financial statements, and financial analysis techniques. The course also covers company accounts and introduces students to the applications of accounting in business decision-making. This course imparts knowledge about Financial Accounting. Financial accounting deals with business performance and its reporting. Learning sessions on Financial Accounting will enable you to identify and estimate the assets, liabilities, expenses and revenue items emanating from economic transactions of the firms to summarize and report them in the form of financial statements.
